As you may have noticed, interest rates are once again nearing record lows. In fact, the 10-year treasury has again dropped more than 50bps in a short period of time. In addition to the rapidly deteriorating interest rate environment, you should be aware that Allianz Life uses a disciplined approach to pricing the guarantees we make with our contracts. The benefits we promise to you and your clients must be sustainable with the current investment yield environment. This approach allows us to ensure that with Allianz, a promise is a promise. That discipline is why Allianz has weathered financial crises in the past and intends to weather whatever the financial environment delivers now and in the future.

In light of this, we will be making the following changes to new business effective Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

According to the RMD Options Study,1 a majority (88%) of high-net-worth consumers ages 65-75 are familiar with RMD rules in tax-deferred retirement plans, and 80% of respondents believe they will not need all of their RMDs for day-to-day living expenses.
